Meet the Owners of OH-4

To introduce ourselves, we are Ruthie and Jack . We first owned a home further south in Rodanthe for 10 years, but nature had its way and the house had to be moved. We did not have a lot to move it to. We then waited for about 8 years. We rented in the Rodanthe area in the meantime before we ventured north and thought about buying again. We have owned our current house here in the Northern OBX for about 23 years. It was an Oceanfront home but the owners wanted to build bigger, so the house was put on a truck and moved to a lot we had purchased the previous year. So, as you can see, since our children were young, we have vacationed and owned in the OBX for many years.

It has been a wonderful, family oriented experience all these years. We had other family members rent other houses on our street, sometimes as many as 5. What a crew would descend on the beach!!

It has been an amazing place to be, at any time of the year! My husband and I get here as many weeks as we can off season, as we rent for the summer weeks.

We are now onto grand kids who can’t WAIT to get here for the summer week. We always do the horse tour, mini golf, go out for ice cream, walks, but have to say MOSTLY beach and pool time! The kids love it!

A crab boil is another fun event, and cousins of ours set it up out at our tiki bar during their stay! The fireworks over the 4th of July are terrific, and another great family adventure. Corolla Park, with the Whalehead Club, Lighthouse and other events, is a must. A wonderful place to walk around and see some of the local shops and learn some of the history of the area.

So, do we LOVE it here? YES we do, the ride from New Jersey is well worth it!

We also love Shoreline OBX as our realtor. They have been with us for over 20 years, and we wouldn’t go with anyone else. They take care of us and our home so it is more like a friend doing it, not just a business! We appreciate the care of our home and friendship we have developed with them. They are fair, honest in all of their dealings with us homeowners, and we trust them to always do the right thing concerning our home. TRUST being a very important part of our business with them.
