About the Mustang Music Festival
A portion of Mustang Music Festival proceeds goes toward benefitting the surrounding community. Every year, the Mustang Outreach Program sends its kids on stage to showcase their newly acquired music skills. This is the result of the program’s mission to supplement cultural arts programs in local schools. They do this through music performances, mentoring, and residencies.
Additionally, the Mustang Music Festival contributes to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. The fund works to conserve, protect, and manage the herd of wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs that roam free on the northernmost point of the Outer Banks. This precious cultural treasure is helped thanks to the generosity of the festival.
Looking for More Things to Do While You’re in Town?
The music festival’s namesake, the wild horses of the Outer Banks, are a wonderful sight to see. The Outer Banks is one of only a few places in the country where wild mustangs roam free. The horses here thrive in the coastal environment and spend their days wandering the coastline. It’s a truly magical experience to see the Corolla wild horses living freely in a scenic environment like the Outer Banks.
The Outer Banks beaches are the best beaches in North Carolina, no question. The Outer Banks is comprised of 100 miles of barrier islands, and each town has its own feel with miles of gorgeous sandy beaches. Enjoy water activities like surfing, jet skiing, and kiteboarding, stroll the beach and collect seashells, or simply find a sandy spot to lay down your towel and relax seaside.
The lighthouses in the Outer Banks are some of the most iconic lighthouses in the United States. Whether you’re looking for things to do in the Outer Banks at night or things to do in the Outer Banks on a rainy day, there is never a bad time to visit the local, dazzling lighthouses.
