The Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival will take place in Manteo this year from September 23-26. The festival will take place at the Roanoke Island Festival Park which is on over 27-acres. Along with late-night jamming sessions and days filled with music, there is also a fireworks show called, “Boomgrass”. Boomgrass is a fireworks show choreographed to bluegrass music. 2. Mustang Music Festival

Benefitting the Outer Banks wild horses, the Mustang Music Festival will take place on Oct. 9-10 at The Whalehead in Corolla. With bands like Keller Williams & More Than a Little, Rusted Root and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, there are plenty of great bands. 3. Outer Banks Seafood Festival

The Outer Banks Seafood Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 17 in Nags Head. The mission of the festival is to honor the coastal seafood heritage and culture by bringing together some of the best seafood restaurants. General admission tickets are $3 while Sea Bucks can be purchased to sample seafood and drinks. Try some of the best seafood at one of the popular festivals in North Carolina. It will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

4. Duck Jazz Festival

The ninth annual Duck Jazz Festival will be held Sunday, October 11in the town of Duck. With gates opening at 10 a.m., this festival will bring together some of the best jazz musicians for a great day of music. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy live jazz in the Outer Banks.

5. Wings Over Water Festival

The Wings Over Water Festival is one of the top wildlife festivals in the country and in North Carolina. Enjoy history trips, tours, programs and more. The festival will be held October 20-25 in Manteo. There will be talks and programs along with tours of wildlife.
