What You’ll Find at the Manteo Waterfront

The Manteo Waterfront Boardwalk

There’s nothing quite as relaxing as strolling the boardwalk at the Manteo waterfront. Start in downtown Manteo and enjoy the beauty of the waterfront as you make your way past scenic boat docks, benches, a playground, and more. Many of Manteo’s best attractions, shops, and restaurants are located near the boardwalk, making this the perfect starting point for your day!

Fabulous Shopping

Whether you’re picking up a unique gift for someone back home, a book to read while you’re at the beach, or a surfboard before hitting the ocean, there’s a shop on the Manteo waterfront for you. Visit Burnside Books to find a good read or Nancyware Pottery for a unique, handmade ceramic good. Do you want to get out on the water or just pick up a new pair of boardshorts? Head to Kitty Hawk Kites‘ Manteo location, where you’ll find a wide selection of water sports gear, apparel, and rentals.

Delicious Restaurants

There’s no better way to dine than with a waterfront view! Visit the Lost Colony Brewery and Cafe to enjoy stunning views and mouthwatering dishes like Carolina Crab Cakes and Low Country Shrimp and Grits. Lost Colony also offers a selection of fantastic locally-crafted brews such as the Kitty Hawk Blonde Ale and the Nags Head IPA.

1587 Restaurant is another excellent choice for local dining, where the menu and high-end atmosphere are outdone only by the views of the water! Choose from incredible menu offerings like the New Zealand Lamb Rack or Ginger Hoisin Glazed Carolina Tuna Steak. You can’t go wrong with anything at 1587!

Wherever you decide to dine, be sure to save room for dessert because Manteo’s Big Buck’s Homemade Ice Cream features some of the Outer Banks’ best sweet treats.

The Manteo Waterfront Marina

Rather than visiting the waterfront by land, boat through the Intracoastal Waterway and dock your boat at one of the boat slips at Manteo Waterfront Marina! You’ll find amenities like a pump out station, free WiFi, and convenient access to downtown Manteo!
