Outer Banks Bike Trails
For extensive maps showing the network of bicycle facilities in the Outer Banks, visit the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce’s website. NC-12 is a multi-use road that can take you all the way from Corolla down to Nags Head. Of course, if you don’t want to ride the whole length, you can ride on sections of it. US 158, US-64, and US-264 are all also roads where you can ride your bike. In addition, many visitors centers have bike maps with a thorough listing of all the bike-friendly paths in the area.
Corolla
Whether you’d like to spend some time cruising through town or are ready for a longer excursion, there are plenty of different biking paths in Corolla. There are several paved routes for cyclists that are entirely separate from motorists that can safely take you between place to place.
Duck and Southern Shores
Duck and Southern Shores feature some of the most multi-use trails in the Outer Banks. There are plenty of paved paths shaded by oaks and cedars that take cyclists to different shops and restaurants or provide quick beach access.
