Summer is rapidly approaching which means it’s time to plan your getaway to the Outer Banks. It’s a great time to visit the Outer Banks so make sure to check out the many great things to do that the area has to offer so you can have the best vacation possible! The Outer Banks or OBX is made up of 100 miles of barrier islands on the coast of North Carolina. Each town has a unique feel and different things to offer along with a rich history. The beaches are the main attraction when heading out to the Outer Banks so come prepared with sunscreen, towels, bathing suits and anything else you might need while out at the ocean. Lifeguards are out from Memorial Day to Labor Day for all Outer Banks towns except for Duck where lifeguards are out from May 1 to October 31. Make sure to swim near a lifeguard and watch for red flags which mean no swimming is allowed.
